I’ve noticed a lot of Chinese folk around my latest flyer area, I might add a lucky red symbol here and there on my next design and see how that goes. I’ll see what my mother-in-law can come up with.

I got a new printer yesterday, the Epson R300. Less than 100 quid and superb features, it can print straight to printable DVD and CD discs, the photo output using the supplied paper was so good that I went online and ordered a hundred sheets of it!
The speed at which it can print my details on the flyers is wicked, here’s an example–view fastprint– (pop up .mov format)

If the Euromillions doesn’t get won on Friday then the next week it will go to whoever matches the most numbers! Great for us because we only need to match 5 to secure the jackpot!

I’ve added a newsletter subscription form to the right toolbar and it’s working fine, it’s double opt-in so a user has to confirm the subscription before their email address is activated. It was quite easy to set up, the mailing list is hosted on a subdomain and it takes care of storing the addresses in a mysql database and is able to track how many emails were opened.
I thought it might be a good idea to add it, performancing.com has had a few articles now on the benefits of having a newsletter for your blog and already it’s had subscribers so the first newsletter goes out tomorrow!

I’ve managed to stay at number 2 at the blogtopsites and the traffic analytics at google show a steady increase of unique visitors, google searches are down big time but MSN searches have increased by 500% plus I’m getting more and more yahoo referrals so my site is getting out there and people are finding it. Traffic from BE, BS and BA are steady and IMHO the best quality traffic is from BlogExplosion, people actually take the time to read and comment rather than wait for their 30 seconds to count down before moving on to the next one. It also has the best features, a video/audio chat room with random credits awarded, blog rocket, scratch cards, forum, rentals and much more.

Still deciding on what to wear for this weeks belly2belly action…. oo-er

Looks like it’s going to go to 125 MILLION SQUIDS, also looks like the new flyers have to be designed too. I wonder if I can manage 5000 flyer door-2-door’s in a week? lol, might just use the ones I’ve got and do belly2belly all week….needs balls, brass ones but there wont be another opportunity like this again (or will there?!!!) I got an invitation to go to an event today but it’s bloody miles away from me so I can’t go seriously, it would cost me 70 quid in petrol to get there and back, nearly as much to go by train and I’ll be buggered if I’m riding the motorbike up there!
It would be nice to see what goes on though, I have been thinking about doing a small event in London, I’ve got somewhere I can use in the middle of Zone 1 but most of my members are non-Londoners so I’d rather do a dress rehearsal with only a few members first before I ask people to travel all the way the big smoke.

I’ve added a few ads on the sidebars, but only for things that I personally recommend and use.

Firefox - that’s a no brainer, the google toolbar has a really neat feature of being able to check the spelling on online forms which really helps with blogging and making comments.

UKonline - the ISP that I use, up to 22MB for 30 squids a month. No bandwidth limits and I actually downloaded at a stable 1.5MBS once!

MSGTAG - an excellent piece of software that tells you when someone has opened your email, no more “did they get it?” or “did it get bounced?” They even have a free version available for download.

Today is the day! the 100 MILLION SQUIDS jackpot day. The stats from admin say that if anyone in one of our syndicates matches only 5 numbers then there will be 39 mulit-millionaires made! I had someone come around to the apartment today and I was explaining to him about the multi-win system and his eye’s were wide with wonder! lol. He took a card and said he’ll check it out. There’s a new banner too to celebrate the new jackpot…

I went out and did almost a thousand flyers yesterday and my personal emails through the back office all went out in time and already 3 new members from me and 3 from the group plus 2 player upgrades. awesome!
I’m really looking forward to the draw but I secretly want it to roll over again, if it does I will design a new euro flyer and get them all out for next week!

Online signups come in thick and fast sometimes and it’s a real thrill to hear the company ring tone as my message alert sounds on my cellphone but it doesn’t compare to the feeling of an offline signup, one where you have mentioned the company and got some interest then followed up with more information and then finally do a return visit and sign them up!
It gives you more confidence, stronger contacts and a definite sense of achievement. Even though online sales and companies continue to grow, I think that the offline touch really helps. There are so many adverts, sponsorships and instant promotions on the net and T.V that people are more open to face to face communication again and it’s apparent in my day to day meetings with new people.

The Euromillions rollover looks like it will exceed 100 Million GBP (172M USD) and I’ve got 2 boxes of flyers left to go out, 2+2 = signups! lol
