My VWD Lottery Experience.

I’ve searched and experimented but no matter what I looked for or tried to fudge, I couldn’t find a way to edit a pdf file with php.

I wanted to create a pdf file of an advertising flyer and give users the option of using their own web address and phone number in it by filling in an online form. There are pdf libraries out there but mainly for creating them on the fly which was no good to me but, today I found out that I could read an .rtf file and edit it then output it as a .doc file so now my members can download advertising templates with their own details and all they have to do is print them out and they’re ready to go!

My first custom document is my hotpocket flyer inspired by Robby’s own version, users visit the Custom Hot Pocket Flyer page and enter their web address and number, press submit and they’re given a link to download an MS Word document ready to print. It’s still in testing so I still have things to worry about like “what if the web address is longer than 20 characters?” and “how to clean up the directory of files so I don’t exceed webspace limits?”.

I have a good idea how to do the first one but I’ll need to thunk about the other but once those problems are solved I can install it permanently on the team portal.

Haha! success, I went away with a geek filled brain and did some more stuff, now I don’t have to manually insert new members into the bottom of the posts. They will appear at the top of the page now and all I have to do is visit a self made form and add each new member when I receive notification of them joining. yey!!
