Pagerank up to 5 and 3 ways. oo-er

by @ February 22nd, 2006. Filed under Advertising, Blog News, Offline, Online, Recruiting Advice

Had a great day today! I spent a while calling prospects with my new affiliate on a 3 way call. Oh it’s so much easier to call someone when you have someone else on the line with you, even if they don’t talk. We went through quite a few and refined our script a little and it was great having a critique on how I did. I always sound different to myself you see!

Page rank = 5

I just checked and my pagerank for this site has gone up to 5 !!! great stuff. (which has mysteriously disappeared after 1 day, it still says 5 here) aha, I found out why, it’s because one of the buttons on the toolbar isn’t loading. The PR comes up after the page has fully loaded and the page isn’t loading completely because of the slow remotely hosted button. I think I’ll change the buttons to local now.
There’s an interesting article on pagerank by Jeremy Zawodny here

My main site has a page rank of 4 too so I’m quite pleased with google for now (even my old unused blog went up to 3), if only I would go back up to the top of the listings for searches of euromillions, I was up there for a few weeks on most search engines for that keyword but I think google gives you good search placement when you have a new blog and then you suddenly appear way down on page 72. Luckily, for some search terms my blog listing in some of the blog top sites comes up as number 2 or 3 so it just requires the user to make one more click.

I did a deal with a traffic exchange [link] so my page gets shown as the first page anyone see’s when they log in. I have got it for a week, it started last night about 12 hours ago and it’s already had over 600 hits! 2 grab a grand signups and a couple to my learn to earn series. There was 15 visitors online at the same time tonight.

OK time for bed, I’ve got another call tomorrow at 10am (it’s 3am now) but I’m ready for it seeing as tonight’s mentoring_for_free call was so useful, I added some stuff to my color chart like “do the focus story” on the blue and “analysis paralysis” to the green, I also added “the coffee story” to the yellow too. I haven’t spoken to many reds so I haven’t put anything extra on that yet (maybe a picture of Sir Alan Sugar?).

emails emails and more emails!!!

by @ February 14th, 2006. Filed under Advertising, Blog News, Online

phew, how hard it is to set up a 7 email autoresponder!! Being the kind of person that would rather spend a whole day figuring out a php maillist and autoresponder program and learning what the hell a cron job is than spend 30 dollars a month with an online mail list provider, I decided to do it myself. Besides, I don’t like the idea of another company having access to my contact database. I suppose if I need to go in the realms of 1000+ emails a day then I would definitely consider paying a professional company to do it for me.

I have almost got it working now, it’s set up for double opt-in and the autoresponder sends out the first email an hour after the subscription is confirmed. I’m currently trying to set it up so I can add users to it so my own team members can take advantage of an autoresponder without having to pay through the nose for it.(and so they don’t have to go through all the crap I just went through to get it installed and working!)

I’m using a new hosting company that provides a mysql database and php scripting for just 1 quid a month and no contract, once I have it set up and working I will make a tutorial and see if I can get a few of us with prospect capture pages that can easily be used on traffic exchanges and blogs.

I did look into some PC based software that does the same job but again, that was just too complex to be able to ask my downline to repeat. It’s all about duplicatable methods this year.

The first in the email series is finalized and now onwards with the next 6!!

The calls, the calls!

Last night’s prospect training_call was great, 2 blues in a row. It’s amazing how the colors_method works. I think I’m going to lurk on the calls this week and really get a feel for feeling the personality out (pardon the pun). Having the online room where a bunch of us can listen in and comment on what we think the persons color is really helps. Listening to Michael talk to strangers with such ease is amazing. I’m brimming with anticipation for when I can do it myself!

Tuesday’s call which is really Wednesday morning for me was really useful, a blue then a green and then a blue. I took notes this time and I am getting quite good at seeing what colour a person is. I still need more practice actually talking on the phone but I am more confident now than I was before the colors_method. I’m even considering starting a new blog just for the whole mentoring_for_free side. I’m really excited about this training and I can’t wait to start my own live prospect calling campaign.
The e_book mentions I have had on this blog have already had some people click and download so I’ll call them tomorrow and see if I can master the color chart (and try to keep my big mouth shut and my tiny ears open)

I did an experimental setup today to see if I could route a Skype call through my chat_room but alas, it wouldn’t do it :-(
I can record the skype calls and then replay them through the room but I can’t make live calls that are broadcast, anyone out there know of a method to make live calls and route them to an audio chat room?
Valentine
I looked at various conference call services and there are lots that can provide free rooms but at the cost of a national call (0870 in the UK) but almost everyone that is in this business has a computer and internet (how else would they be here?) and I’ve seen how the chat_room performs on dial up so why not have the team meetings online?

Happy Valentines day everyone!

and she thought I had forgot! good job Tesco.com delivered the Champagne and candles today! haha, just wait till she gets in

Marketing Results

There’s been some really good results with my new schedule for online and offline promoting, my starter packs that went out to affiliates were well received and there is a lot more action in the team. It’s quite exciting having such a large team now and watching the new people go from playing one game to playing both for free, even better when they start to make a profit!

I went out yesterday to do leaflets and I had downloaded the first Harry Potter audio book to my phone after reading about it at Akufu and I ended up doing the most flyer deliveries ever!, Stephen Fry has a great voice for reading and does such a good job of changing accents and intonations throughout the book and it’s many changing characters that I didn’t want to stop listening, I must have walked 10 miles yesterday and delivered over 600 flyers and I didn’t even notice it.

Affiliate Advice Article

by @ November 15th, 2005. Filed under Advertising, Help and Advice, Online, Website help

I’ve been reading an article from here, it’s a site with a collection of articles on a wide range of subjects, there’s some real gems in there. The article linked mentions 3 things that a successful affiliate marketer needs. (found via here)

  1. A Website.
Obvious one this one but not just your affiliate website that VWD give you, having a blog is one great way to get yourself noticed by the search engines. My other blog has been going for a few months and already it has a Google rank of 2 and gets more hits from searchs than when I used AdWords!. This blog has only been going for less than a month but it’s already getting search results from

  2. Creating your blog with a robust featured software such as WordPress takes care of things link pinging the major search engines, providing RSS feeds that bots can read and much more automatically.

  3. Incentives
Something for free like the Grab a Grand page, specialised advice like this article here. An opt-in mail list you can add to your page (one coming here soon) and free software products like ebooks or shareware products can help bring and keep visitors.
  4. Link Popularity
Try and link to relevant sites in your blog or webpage, see if you can get a link to your page on other peoples sites. Put your URL in absolutely every signature you use on forums, chat rooms or anywhere it’ll appear as a click-able HTML link. The article mentions using his site to get articles for your own blog, write your own and put them there and you already have a reciprocal link. I don’t usually frequent such sites as there’s a lot out there that is just drivel, it’s hard to find some good clean advice that isn’t drowning in “buy this” or “buy that” links.

well, I wanted to show you the article but it seems I’ve re-written it myself! I hope Larry doesn’t mind! he shouldn’t do I’ve put enough links to him here.

Good marketing advice and ‘Carding’

by @ November 10th, 2005. Filed under Help and Advice, Online

Just saw this article on a blog I saw on BE. It makes sense, too many budding affiliates just place their members website URL willy nilly without asking themselves ,”What do I want someone to do when they read this?”. Even if it’s in an email signature you must put at least a small bit of explanation in there.

When giving out cards or leaflets make sure you say ,”Take a look at the website, go to the address on the card” or something similar. When I first started giving out cards I would be scared to even say anything I was just grateful they had took it and not shook their head and tried to walk through me!! It sounds silly now but it happens to all of us.

When carding cars (putting your VWD card in the little bit of rubber at the bottom of the drivers side window):

That will do it for today, remember Gigi’s advice - a Daily Method of Operation means doing something every day, different things on different days and even different things on the same day!

Good luck with your efforts.

Blog Explosion

by @ November 9th, 2005. Filed under Advertising, Blog News, Online

Ok, so I have registered my blog with Blog Explosion which is a traffic exchange program, chances are that you already know what it is ‘coz you’re viewing this page from it now!

Along with BE there’s other places to advertise a blog such as in the details or profile on the various forums that I visit and adding it to my email signature, on Stumbleupon which is like BE but for more than just blogs, once registered on BE a regular ‘ping my blog’ to the major blog sites and it wont be long before traffic comes this way.

Start of a new blog

by @ November 9th, 2005. Filed under Blog News, Offline, Online

Well, here we are! After learning enough about blogs it’s time I split my first blog into two, one for personal and one for covering my lottery business.

Today is for tweaking and perhaps visiting the lady that phoned up from one of my leaflet drops.

Current torrent count is at over 60,000 adverts out in a month. I may just remove the torrents one by one and re-post them all again, no need to keep searching for new and improved ebooks when there’s such a large amount of visit’s to the various sites, not everyone checks back every day and the most popular torrents will get downloaded again and again.
