I’ve got sore fingers from all the typing replies to my affiliates today, lots of enthusiasm and a good response to my member give away. I ended up giving 4 away in the end. I worked it out that I could have got 30 quid extra a month keeping them but that’s a small price for encouraging and making a difference to a members business!. The group email function in the back office area of the members site can even track how many emails were opened, it’s useful and with a bit of html the email looks pretty good.
I’ve been scouring about the internet collecting different articles and I saw some of those pay $67 dollars to buy this book and it’ll show you everything you need to know to grow your business, it’s called The Ultimate MLM Blueprint for Massive Success by David Ledoux. It sounds interesting and he seems to imply that it shows methods that are compatible with my offline drive.
I’ve seen a lot of these on the internet and I don’t wanna get scammed so I did some searching and found loads of blogs of the same template with articles-a-plenty of affiliate advice, good advice but I’m wary of such mass-marketing things. I could only find testimonials that say that the advice will be good or it was an interesting read but I couldn’t find any that weren’t part of the sales pitch.
I tried to phone the number on the page but couldn’t get through (a message about circuits being busy) so I left a support ticket message which was replied to within 2 hours with what could only be a personal message because of the references to my questions and they said I could get a refund after 60 days if I didn’t think it was worth it. hmmm. I’ve sent another reply asking how I can be sure to get my money back if I’m not satisfied, their response will determine if I buy it or not. ( Lotto payday soon!)
I don’t know…I’m tempted but I hate paying for stuff that turns out to be hype. (we’ve all been tempted to buy these things I’m sure, any experience out there?).
My own methods are working well but I am sure there’s stuff I could/should be doing but missing. I’m making the decent money that people have told me makes me successful but I’m sure there’s a much more duplicatable method, something to show the person that has no idea of what a URL or template is. More local groups and personal 1-to-1’s. I did some personal visits last week, I helped (or tried) to show someone how to use the URL and email templates but she just couldn’t get it. She’d only ever used the PC to look on her son’s photo site so instead, I phoned up a few prospects from her pending application emails with her there and listening in and that worked really well! she was very excited about doing that.
A really good reaction and something that she can definitely do, you can’t get that response online with emails and cut and paste replies and it’s hard to visit that well meaning affiliate in Canada just to show them how certain phrases on the telephone can make all the difference!
My first foray into MLM was with Telco back when BT ruled all and had just relinquished their monopoly, it was based on home visits and one-to-one marketing and training and without even doing much I earnt a little commission but it died because I had to sign people up every month to qualify and at the time I had a very decent wage from my full time job so I wasn’t money hungry. I’m glad I didn’t stick with that though, have you seen how many telecom companies are out there now?
It’s why I like VWD, it’s simple, you don’t rip people off and it’s quite easy with the right guidance to get to free play, people can be happy with just that and they’ll stay as customers. It’s gettin off my bum and doing stuff that’s tough. It’s supposed to get easier with time but I don’t think it does, you just learn that it gets results and are more willing to go through with it (I think Neil mentioned this at the last conference).
I’ll let you all know how it goes…
